We brought out the Checkers board last night....and I won! Lol
Before Hunter was born, Brandon and I verbally made the decision to keep dating as a way to make sure we still focus on one another so we don’t lose that connection while raising our son.
I have to be honest, it is harder than I thought it would be to “date” Brandon now that we have Hunter in our lives. It’s hard to be out somewhere when my mind is still back at home with Hunter. Or I wish that we were all together experiencing this adventure.
But then there are other days when I really miss dating and going on adventures with Brandon. We used to find unusual ways to date each other, which made it even more fun! Plus, when we dated, we were a lot closer. Not that we’re not close now! I think sharing parenthood is a huge result of that, but there’s still a difference of “closeness” when you make the effort to date each other. You make the point to impress the other one, pay attention to the other one, and grow with each other.
So, we have decided to put our words into action! We are going to make a point to “date” each other every other evening. These dates might be out and about somewhere or they might be in the comfort of our own home. So come along and join us!
